Pisa, La Spezia & Porto Venere

I remember the time when I decided to embark on a spontaneous adventure with a Gabriel. We had no plans and no itinerary, but we were eager to explore the beautiful country of Italy. As we drove along the winding roads, we found ourselves in the charming city of Pisa, best known for its Leaning Tower.

We were excited to explore the town and took some pictures of the iconic landmark. After that, we set out on a quest for the best porchetta in town. It wasn't long before we stumbled upon a small restaurant called L’Ostellino, where we indulged in some delicious porchetta and ice-cold beers. To finish off our culinary adventure, we treated ourselves to some creamy gelato before hitting the road once again.

Our destination was La Spezia, which we chose as our home base for exploring the nearby Cinque Terre. After dropping off our bags at the apartment, we couldn't resist the urge to witness the stunning sunset at Porto Venere, often referred to as "The Cinque Terre’s Gorgeous Sixth Town."

We drove along the picturesque coastline, admiring the breathtaking views along the way, until we finally arrived at Porto Venere. The town was simply enchanting, with its pastel-colored buildings perched on the rugged cliffs overlooking the sparkling sea. We were so mesmerized by its beauty that we made a pact to return again and again during our four-day stay in La Spezia.

On our second visit to Porto Venere, we arrived just in time to witness the sun dipping below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the town. We sat in silence, lost in the moment, as the sky turned from orange to pink to purple. It was a moment we would never forget, and we felt grateful for the spontaneity that had brought us to this magical place.

Our trip may have been unplanned, but it was full of unexpected surprises and unforgettable moments. And as we headed back to our apartment in La Spezia, we couldn't wait to see where the road would take us next.
