The big day arrived. The location was the stunning Hotel Copamarina Beach Resort in Lajas, on the southwestern coast of Puerto Rico.

Now, for those who don't know the island, San Juan to Lajas is a beautiful but long drive across the mountains. My office is in San Juan, and while GPS might give you a standard travel time, I have a golden rule at Gary Rosado Photography: Always plan for the unexpected.

I left with a massive "time buffer," arriving at the resort exactly 1 hour and 45 minutes ahead of schedule.

As the ceremony approached, the sky did something amazing for us. It became overcast.

To a casual observer, "clouds" might sound gloomy. To a wedding photographer, they are a gift from heaven. The clouds acted as a massive, natural softbox, providing a gentle, even light that made Jazmin look absolutely radiant. There were no harsh shadows or squinting eyes, just pure, soft, romantic lighting.

I focused on the complete narrative of the ceremony:

But right as we moved into the cocktail hour, the heavens opened.

It didn’t just "rain", it poured. We were in the heart of the dry forest area, and we were witnessing a legitimate tropical deluge. For many, this would be a crisis. But at Jazmin and Daniel’s wedding, it became part of the magic.
